In the Words of a Former Student
Dear SunHawk,Well I am writing this letter to you because I want to let you know just how thankful I am for having the opportunity to come to SunHawk.
SunHawk has completely changed my life and I am a whole brand new person, I never thought 6 months ago I would be who I am today. I love myself completely one hundred percent and I never thought I would, especially internally and externally, but I do.
I most definitely feel that if I didn't have the chance to come here I would still be destroying my life by the minute and I would either be dead or in jail. I think I would have been dead right now because most of the time when I was under the influence I always wanted to end up killing myself, I was a suicidal mess when I was drunk and I attempted several times but it never worked (thankfully) and it scares me so much to think now what if it actually worked. I am so grateful that I am not in those situations anymore.
When I think about me in the past I saw a sick girl who wanted help so badly, who needed help and knew deep down the life I was living was not the one I wanted at all.
April 6, 2009 was one of the best days of my life, the day I came to SunHawk. It was the first day of my recovery and a start to a new and successful life.
I just wanted to thank you personally for everything. This program is a miracle, it really is. It does change lives and it does work if you let it. I will never forget SunHawk; it will always have a place in my heart.
Thank you.
Due to its proven effectiveness, as well as its wide availability as a support system after students complete our program, the Twelve Step philosophy is the foundation of our treatment program. Students attend daily AA/NA meetings and learn from others who have been successful at living a positive life, free from substances.
